How to backup your iPhone
If something were to ever happen to your phone such as losing it, damaging it where it can no longer be used, or getting it comprised, you want to make sure your data and information can be transferred to a new device. By backing it up to the cloud you can restore your information to a new device. Follow these steps to make sure your data is backed up.
- Connect your device to a Wi-Fi network.
- Go to Settings > [your name], and tap iCloud
- Tap iCloud Backup.
- Tap Back Up Now. Stay connected to your Wi-Fi network until the process ends. Under Back Up Now, you’ll see the date and time of your last backup. If you get an alert that you don’t have enough iCloud storage space to complete the backup, you may need to purchase more iCloud storage. Check out our blog article on purchasing more storage if you need assistance.
When iCloud backup is turned on your iPhone backs up daily when connected to power, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi.
