October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, a global effort to help everyone stay safe and protected when using technology whenever and however you connect. PTCI is proud to champion this online safety and education initiative this October. All month long, we are promoting these key behaviors to encourage every employee and customer to take control of their online lives. There are all kinds of ways to stay safe and secure online but even just practicing these cybersecurity basics can make a huge difference:
1. Use Strong Passwords and a Password Manager
2. Turn on Multifactor Authentication
3. Recognize and Report Phishing
4. Update Your Software
The cybersecurity and digital privacy of our employees and customers is important to PTCI. Cybersecurity Awareness Month is designed to engage and educate public- and private-sector partners through events and initiatives with the goal of raising awareness about cybersecurity to increase the resiliency of the nation in the event of a cyber incident. Since the Presidential proclamation establishing Cybersecurity Awareness Month in 2004, the initiative has been formally recognized by Congress, federal, state, and local governments and leaders from industry and academia. This united effort is necessary to maintain a cyberspace that is safer and more resilient and remains a source of tremendous opportunity and growth for years to come.
