E911 & Power Outage Warning IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE: This home phone service (VoIP/Digital Voice) requires electrical power.
- Outages: In a power outage, the phone service (including 911 dialing) will NOT function without a battery backup.
- Liability: If you choose not to connect a handset, you acknowledge that you have an alternative method (like a mobile phone) to reach emergency services. PTCI is not liable for an inability to reach 911 due to the customer's choice not to install a handset or lack of power.
The advertised price represents a bundled rate for Residential Internet and Home Phone service.
- Mandatory Bundle: Residential service is only available as a combined package. Standalone internet service is not offered.
- Bundled Pricing: The advertised rate covers both Residential Internet and Home Phone service.
- Condition of Service: Maintaining the active phone line on the account is a condition of receiving internet service.
Phone Service Usage & Equipment: While the phone line is active and required for service, connecting a physial telephone handset is optional.
- No Usage Requirement: There is no obligation to use the phone line or plug in a device.
- Service Capability: The line is fully active and supports local/long-distance calling, as well as E911 access, should you choose to use it.
- Customer Acknowledgement: Customers who decline to plug in a phone acknowledge that they will not be able to make or receive calls, including emergency 911 calls, via this service.
Taxes, Fees & Surcharges: Applicable taxes, fees, and surcharges are legally required to be assessed on all active lines. These will appear as separate line items and include:
- Texas 9-1-1 Emergency Service Fee: A mandatory fee assessed per active line.
- Texas Universal Service Fund (TUSF): (Assessed based on applicable state regulations).
