Beaver...Playground of Northwest Oklahoma
Founded
in 1886, Beaver has a rich history, yet is one of the most progressive
towns in the area. The business district provides a variety of shopping
opportunities and the medical staff and facilities provide quality care
for Beaver County residents. The progressive school system is one of the
best in Oklahoma, including a high academic standard, a beautiful field
house and athletic field.
Beaver
has 11 active churches, a senior citizen center and the county
fairgrounds with large, modern facilities.
Enjoy
fishing, dune buggy riding, hiking, play areas and camping at Beaver
Dunes State Park. A swimming pool, ball diamonds, tennis courts and city
parks are just a few other recreational opportunities available in
Beaver.
"World Cow Chip
Throwing Championship"® Contest
Held each April for over thirty-five years, this
unique event celebrates the history of Beaver County and receives
international attention.
